Riot Jazz Brass Band returns with their second album Incoming! It takes its name from MC Chunky’s favourite audience party-cipation game that’s been bringing dance-floors to their knees since their debut EP Gives You the Horn! in 2010.

Five years of non-stop, thunder-busting gigs later, the band’s tightly-knit, collective intuition for the live sound has come into full bloom. On Incoming!, this raw-wired energy is captured and distilled in 11 animated tunes, showcasing Riot Jazz Brass Band’s musical mastery in a sound-salad of afrobeat, drum’n’bass, funky grooves and hot jazz barnstormers.

With Incoming!, crowd-courter MC Chunky lays his quick-witted words on record, displaying a selection of different cuts of his jib, from the opening ‘Merkin,’ the groovy ‘Life of a Mouthpiece’ and the dubadelic ‘Nailing the Harmony’ to the playful ‘Risky’ and ‘Dem a Sus,’ an homage to a statement made by Manchester band Harlem Spirit, a message which still resonates past the boundaries of Manchester in 2015.

Incoming!, which also sees drum’n’bass legend Tonn Piper preside over heavyweight track ‘Checkmate,' came into being at the celebrated Blueprint Studios, where Elbow and Gorillaz have waxed their craft, under the super-duper vision of Fred Kindt and Andrew Tulloch, who’ve previously produced and engineered sound for Amy Winehouse and Kiss.
